Old Mac Donald with props
I made these props a while ago and I like bringing them out every so often because they are so fun
Old Mac Donald had a farm
E-I-E-I-O
And on that farm he had a *animal*
E-I-E-I-O….
Early Literacy Tip
Use different early literacy practices to teach colors or animals or other words and letters. Sing, talk, read, write, and play.
Craft
This craft used scrap paper, glue, scissors, markers, and crayons! It was an easy prep and the kids loved using their handprints. They were much cuter with the small handprints too.
It was adorable to see how theirs turned out because they all looked so different!
How it Went
This storytime was a HIT!
Polar Bear’s Underwear always gets the cutest giggles and is one of my favorite storytime reads for all ages. Pete the Cat is also always a win. The Life-Size animal books are my favorite nonfiction books to read and the kids get crazy running up to touch the pages to see how big the animals are in comparison. I always make this my last book because they get a little wild after this book.
This craft was really cute and I loved seeing what they created and they get so excited to show me. I have had parents tell me that they don’t craft with their kids much so they love the storytime crafts which is great to hear.
