I did some outreach events around Thanksgiving time last year and wanted to post the Thanksgiving crafts we did as everyone prepares for the upcoming holiday.
Turkey Crafts
For our turkey craft, we used paper plates and watercolor paints to create colorful turkey bodies. The kids then cut and glued bits of paper to decorate their turkeys’ faces or add any extra details they imagined. A few chose to simply draw their turkeys right on the plates or paper, and those turned out super cute, too! I’m including pictures of all the creative variations below.
For more storytime ideas, see this post I did a few years ago!

Thankful Wreaths
For the thankful wreaths, I prepped paper plates ahead of time by cutting out the center. I also had a mix of pre-cut leaves and scrap paper available so the kids could make their own if they wanted. We used leftover twine from previous crafts to hang the finished wreaths. On each leaf, the kids—or their adults—wrote something they were thankful for.
These wreaths turned out adorable, and I love how unique each one looked! I’ll definitely be using this idea again for future crafts—it’s simple, meaningful, and easy to adapt for different seasons or themes.

Later this month, I want to attempt a pinecone turkey that I found from Live Craft Eat.
What other Thanksgiving craft or thankful crafts have you done?
