Songs We Sang

If all the Raindrops

If all the raindrops
Were lemon drops and gumdrops
Oh, what a rain that would be

Standing outside with my mouth open wide
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah

If all the raindrops
Were lemon drops and gumdrops
Oh, what a rain that would be

If all the snowflakes
Were candy bars and milkshakes
Oh, what a snow that would be

Standing outside with my mouth open wide
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah

If all the snowflakes
Were candy bars and milkshakes
Oh, what a snow that would be

If all the raindrops
Were lemon drops and gumdrops
Oh, what a rain that would be
Everybody

Standing outside with my mouth open wide
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah

If all the raindrops
Were lemon drops and gumdrops
Oh, what a rain that would be

Icky Sticky Bubblegum

Icky sticky, sticky, sticky bubblegum, bubblegum, bubblegum,

Icky sticky, sticky, sticky bubblegum makes my hands stick to my nose!

And we pull them, and we pull them, and we pull them away!

Repeat this with different body parts until you are ready to be done.

CANDY

There was a treat I liked to eat,
And candy was its name-oh!

C-A-N-D-Y
C-A-N-D-Y
C-A-N-D-Y
And candy was its name-oh!

Repeat like BINGO. With each verse, clap in place of a letter.

Early Literacy Tip

Candy isn’t just a sweet treat—it’s a fun way to build vocabulary! Try sorting candy by color and saying the names together. Talking about things your child loves helps make new words stick and keeps learning fun!

Flannel Activities

There were too many adorable options, so we did teo flannel activities this week!

Each child got a few color gumballs (or one for large crowds) and when I said their color they came up to the board and put their gumball into the machine.

“Bubblegum, bubblegum in a dish.

What color piece does Miss Kirsten wish?”

Five Little Candies
(Spoken or sung to a simple rhythm)

Five little candies, sitting by the door,
One got eaten—then there were four!

Four little candies, pretty as can be,
One got eaten—then there were three!

Three little candies, so sweet and new,
One got eaten—then there were two!

Two little candies, waiting for some fun,
One got eaten—then there was one!

One little candy, all alone and done,
It got eaten—now there are none!

Craft

I forgot to take a picture of this craft, but I put out paper plates, dot markers, and brown paper. Kids decorated their own lollipops and created their own flavors and had a blast.
